When I first moved to Markham in 1996 one of the first things I did was open the Parks and Rec book to see what the local hockey scene was. Markham is well known for hockey and I was fortunate I joined the Markham Men Recreational Hockey League when I did.

Why It's Different
Every year there is a draft so you get to play and bond with different guys. The rules are made to encourage competition while making the game as safe as possible. There’s no center ice so that opens up the game. There’s no slapshots so you don’t have to worry about getting blasted. Most importantly, there is NO FIGHTING.
